FAQ

Streaming service questions

Do I need a VPN to watch rugby league?
No — every service listed on this page is licensed for its stated territory. We don't recommend using a VPN to access another region's broadcaster, as it breaches the terms of service of every major rugby league rights holder. See our full guide to rugby league and VPNs for the explanation, and use the country-specific service that's actually licensed where you live instead.
How many broadcasters and countries does this page cover?
27 broadcasters across 32 countries, spanning free-to-air TV, international subscription services (Watch NRL, Super League+), and regional pay-TV/streaming rights holders in the UK & Ireland, Australia & New Zealand, Continental Europe, the Americas, and Asia & the Middle East.
Which services are free?
BBC Sport, Channel 4 and TVNZ+ carry selected rugby league matches free-to-air in their licensed territories — see the free-to-air section above for exactly what each one covers. Every other service on this page is a paid subscription.
What's the difference between Watch NRL and Kayo Sports?
Watch NRL is the NRL's own international streaming service for viewers outside Australia. Kayo Sports is Australia's domestic sports streaming platform (owned by Foxtel) and is the one to use if you're actually based in Australia — Watch NRL isn't available there.
How do I watch Super League if I don't live in the UK?
Super League+ is the international streaming service — it carries every Super League match, the Championship, and Magic Weekend outside the UK. Inside the UK, Sky Sports (or NOW for a contract-free option) holds the rights instead.
I don't see my country listed — what should I do?
Use the country picker above for a dedicated breakdown, or check the DAZN and international-service entries on this page — several territories without a dedicated local broadcaster are still covered through one of the worldwide services.
