Biggest winning margin
Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles defeated Melbourne Storm 40-0 in the 2008 NRL Grand Final at ANZ Stadium — the largest winning margin in any Grand Final.
Notable records
- Most premierships overall: South Sydney Rabbitohs (21)
- Most consecutive titles: St George (11, 1956-1966)

The story so far
The NRL traces its competition back to 1908 when the New South Wales Rugby League was founded. South Sydney Rabbitohs are the most successful club in the competition's history with 21 titles, though most came in the pre-NRL era; their last triumph was 2014. The St George Dragons' 11 consecutive premierships from 1956 to 1966 is the most extraordinary streak in any Australian sport. In the modern NRL (1998 onwards), Penrith Panthers' four-peat from 2021 to 2024 ended in 2025 when Brisbane Broncos beat Melbourne Storm 26-22 at Accor Stadium to claim their seventh premiership. The minor premiership (regular-season leader) earns the J. J. Giltinan Shield; the Grand Final winner receives the Provan-Summons Trophy.
