Wembley Stadium: stadium guide

England's national stadium. Hosts the Challenge Cup Final every spring — a tradition since 1929 (with breaks for renovation and the wartime years). The Cup Final is one of rugby league's flagship events, broadcast free-to-air on the BBC. Most recently, Wigan Warriors won the 2026 final here, beating Hull KR 40–10 in late May.

Nearest station

Wembley Park (Metropolitan, Jubilee), Wembley Stadium (Chiltern Railway), Wembley Central (Bakerloo, Overground) — for the Challenge Cup Final and other major finals, Wembley Stadium and Wembley Central stations are sometimes closed on the day with Wembley Park running an enhanced service instead, so it's worth checking the official journey planner close to the date rather than assuming all three are open.

Parking

On-site event parking must be pre-booked in advance through the official Wembley parking site — non-pre-booked cars aren't guaranteed access. Otherwise limited and expensive; the three nearby stations make public transport the obvious choice.

Pre-match drinks

Street drinking is banned on Olympic Way (Wembley Way) leading up to the stadium — head for the licensed bars and restaurants around Wembley Park instead.
